ActewAGL (Australian Capital Territory Electricity and Water, Australian Gas Light Company) is an Australian energy retailer offering electricity and gas plans for residential customers and businesses in ACT and some parts of NSW. 

ActewAGL offers three core electricity and gas plans. These include their standard retail contract, a Certain Saver plan that allows you to fix rates for up to three years and a plan that promises discounts of up to 20% off standard gas and electricity rates. 

ActewAGL also pays feed-in tariffs to customers for energy generated through solar panels and sent back to the grid.

ActewAGL Energy plans compared

ActewAGL has three core residential energy plans in NSW and the ACT. They do not operate in any other states in Australia. The Certain Saver plan features fixed rates for three years and the rate decreases every July during the benefit period. 

They also offer a range of commercial plans for small, medium and large businesses in the ACT including a standard retail contract and a discount plan offering 12% off electricity usage and 15% off gas usage. 

Each ActewAGL residential energy plan also features:

  • Online account management, usage monitoring and payment 
  • A 10-day cooling-off period 
  • Same-day electricity connections when you move home 
  • The option to choose only green energy for a small additional charge 

ActewAGL customers are also able to make regular monthly estimated payments to avoid large quarterly bills.
