Powershop is an Australian/New Zealand owned energy retailer offering electricity plans for residential customers and businesses in VIC, NSW, SA, and QLD, as well as gas services in VIC. They do not operate in WA, NT or TAS. 

Powershop’s main point of difference is that all electricity and gas the retailer provides is 100% carbon offset and they use mainly renewable energy sources. The Green Electricity Guide ranks them as the greenest energy provider in Australia. 

Powershop also pays feed-in tariffs to customers for energy generated through solar panels and sent back to the grid.

Powershop energy plans compared

Powershop offers three plans including Powershop/Shopper, Powershop Lite and the default or standing offer in each state. Using the Powershop app, customers can also monitor daily electricity usage and solar power generation data, manage their accounts, receive bill notifications and pay outstanding bills.

  • The Powershop/Shopper plan enables customers to bulk-buy power in advance at discounted rates through the Powershop mobile app or online store. 
  • Powershop Lite offers low rates with simple set-and-forget monthly (or bi-monthly for gas) payments but no access to bulk savings via the online shop or application.

Yes. Powershop offers energy plans tailored to both small and medium-sized businesses, and large corporations including the same flexible usage and billing as their residential plans.

Does Powershop buy solar from its customers?


Yes. Powershop offers retailer-funded feed-in tariffs. However, these plans will vary between states and plans so you should always confirm with Powershop on the feed-in tariff amount before switching plans.
