Red Energy is a 100% Australian-owned energy retailer offering electricity and gas plans for residential customers and businesses in VIC, NSW, SA, QLD and ACT. They do not operate in TAS, WA or NT. They are the only energy retailer in Australia able to use the Australian Owned & Made logo.

Red Energy is owned by Snowy Hydro Ltd, the fourth largest electricity retailer in the National and owner of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme - one of Australia’s largest renewable energy plants.

Red Energy plans compared

Red Energy has four core residential energy plans in VIC and three in NSW, SA, QLD and ACT, including plans that offer Qantas points as an incentive. Their residential plans include:

  • Living Energy Saver: Includes up to 4,500 discounts at restaurants, cinemas, hotels and more with Red Energy Rewards. 10% pay-on-time discounts for gas bills & discounts off the entire bill. 
  • Qantas Red Saver: Earn 10,000 Qantas points when you choose electricity & 5,000 when you choose gas. Earn 2 Qantas Points per $1 spent on your electricity and gas bills when you pay on time. 10% pay-on-time discounts for gas bills & discounts off the entire bill. 
  • Qantas Red Plus: Earn 10,000 Qantas points when you choose electricity & 5,000 when you choose gas. Earn 7 Qantas Points per $1 spent on your electricity and gas bills when you pay on time 
  • Red EV Saver: Exclusive to Electric Vehicle owners who have a smart meter or interval meter. Free electricity use period 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday only. 10% pay-on-time discounts for gas bills & discounts off the entire bill.

Red Energy is a 100% Australian-owned energy provider offering gas and electricity plans in Vic, NSW, ACT, QLD and SA. 

They offer three core plans in most states (four in VIC), including Living Energy Saver, Qantas Red Saver and the Red EV Saver. Each plan has the exact same standard supply and usage charges but different incentives and discounts.

Does Red Energy buy solar from its customers?


Yes. Red Energy offers retailer-funded feed-in tariffs. However, these plans will vary between states and plans so you should always confirm with RedEnergy on the feed-in tariff amount before switching plans.
