Background and experience

Before joining Money.com.au, Sean was Deputy Editor at finance research company Canstar where he lead a team of finance journalists covering Australian finance news. He also oversaw the communication of Canstar's Star Rating program across more than 50 banking, insurance and investment product categories.

Prior to that, he was responsible for digital content at one of Australia's biggest customer-owned financial institutions, Great Southern Bank.

Before moving to Australia, Sean was based in the UK where he oversaw digital communication at the Law Society of Scotland. He was a contributor to legal publication, The Journal, covering consumer interest and regulatory topics.

Before that, he was an award-winning copywriter at communications and advertising agency, Leith, in Edinburgh.

Sean trained as a journalist in Dublin and worked in local and national media in Ireland in the early part of his career at publications including the Drogheda Independent and the Irish Daily Star, as well Ireland's national broadcaster, Radio Teilifis Eireann.
